Jakarta (ANTARA) – The instant messaging application, WhatsApp, is testing a new text format for its messaging service which will be available on Android and iOS.

This new format will add a row of text shapes to make messaging more organized, adding variety in addition to displaying previously existing capabilities such as bolder text, italic text and strikethrough text.

In a Gizchina report, Saturday (13/1) local time, currently this format can only be tried in the latest beta application, there are also new text formats that are being tested by users, one of which is the “>” symbol which when used can make the message highlighted in particular.

Apart from that, another format is introduced, if the user uses the symbols “_” or “*”, the user can create a message in the form of a list of points so that it is easier to compose text in the form of a list.

For users who want messages that are more nicely composed, this format can provide an appearance that is more pleasing to the eye when sent.

Currently, the text format option can only be accessed by Android users with the WhatsApp beta application version 2.24.2.9. Meanwhile, iOS users can explore the feature with version 23.21.1.75.

The current testing phase aims to collect response from users, ensuring a smooth and free experience bugs before those new text formatting options were available to a wider range of users.
