Jakarta (ANTARA) – Google has reportedly decided to postpone the launch of the stable version of the latest Android operating system, namely Android 14.
It was stated that the delay might occur until early October 2023.
In the Gizchina report, Friday (8/9), news of the delay in the release of the stable version of Android 14 came from Mishaal Rahman, someone who can be trusted for news about Android development.

The Android expert said the delay in releasing Android 14 occurred because of the discovery of a security vulnerability that had to be fixed.
In his tweet via
“That may be a new release date. October 4 is also the same day as the Pixel 8 launch event, so if this is true, this will be the first time an operating system release has been pushed back to coincide with the launch of a new Pixel device,” said Mishaal via the X-account @mishaalrahman.
Google has not officially announced a specific date for the release of the stable version of Android 14.
However, previously, the industry believed that the stable version of Android 14 would be released on September 5 2023.
This delay is also a challenge for several smart device brands, one of which is OnePlus, which announced the launch of its operating system OxygenOS based on Android 14 on September 25.
If Android 14 is available in October, then OnePlus may have to adjust the release of their operating system.
Even so, the delay of the stable version of the Android 14 operating system is actually not necessarily bad news because it means that Google is still paying attention and preparing more time to optimize the operating system before it is actually used by more users.
